Amy in Edina conquers the clutter of a busy family

I was so proud of myself this morning! I had been dreading writing that letter of recommendation, but I used the "body doubling" technique that you showed me. I went through the steps, the letter is done, and I feel great!

Before & After - Amy, Edina

Before & After - Amy, Edina 2A Little About Amy:

A client since 2011, Amy is a working professional with two school-age kids. Paper was taking over the house – mail, school papers and art, instruction booklets, catalogs, post-it note reminders and junk mail.

Amy’s Goals:

Amy is dedicated to health and life balance, and wanted her household to be more manageable and serene. She wanted more time for herself, and specifically, more time with her personal trainer. Amy worked with Stephanie 2-3 times per month for several months. Now, she works with Stephanie from time to time on home organizing projects and time management.

  • An organized paperwork center for incoming bills, catalogs and professional journals. It is an open access system (not a file cabinet), which works to Amy’s visual strength.
  • The mudroom is more functional and looks better. Baskets corral children’s items, and a large magnet board holds sports & activities schedules.
  • Amy has absorbed many time management techniques, including “body doubling” or working with a partner to stay focused and complete a task.
